Dr. R.K. Molla, founder and President of CEI has taught undergraduate level courses for about 30 years as a Professor of printing technology in two universities in the USA. Currently he teaches digital prepress for the Graphic Design department of Art Institute Online, a division of Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
Professor Molla received a Master of Science (M.S.) in Printing Management degree and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Technology Education in USA. Dr. Molla is the author of the world’s first text on drum scanner, “Electronic Color Separation,” which was published in 1988. The book was used by more than 50 schools in the USA, Canada and Europe as a text, and about 2,000 printing plants worldwide as a training manual. He is currently working on a new text, “A Beginner’s Guide to Digital Prepress” which is expected to go to press in 2008.
Dr. Molla conducted numerous hands on workshops on color reproduction for the industry. The companies that participated in the workshops include Adobe Systems, Agfa Compugraphic, Boston Globe, Cariflex, Chicago Tribune, DuPont de Nemours, Eastman Kodak, Hoechst Celanese, Hell Graphic Systems, Intergraph Corporation, Kreber Graphics, Linotype-Hell, Optronics, USA Information Agency, to name a few.
Dr. Molla received "Distinguished West Virginian," the highest civil award of the state of West Virginia from the governor in recognition for his contribution as writer and educator. He is also the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship for attending the Masters program at South Dakota State University.
After retirement, Dr. Molla started CEI in 2004 to serve the clients worldwide with the production facility established in his native country Bangladesh. Dr. Molla was pioneer in identifying the potential of the highly skilled desktop publishing professionals in a third world country and makes their skills available worldwide at a comparatively lower cost.
