The next step after adding a new layer is to make the background of the logo transparent. Click the Magic Wand tool from the toolbar and select the logo area (background) you want to make transparent and the selection will be applied.

However, you can use other tools like Lasso tool or Quick Selection tool as well for the selection.

Now, it’s time to save the logo and you have to do that in PNG format. Go to File>Save As.
