In the beginning, open Photoshop and create a new document with your preferred dimension. We set the dimension to 750×350 for a better display of the text effect.

Change the Background Color

Then, change the background color of the document into a solid color for superior visibility. To execute that, click the “Create New Fill or Adjustment Layer” icon at the middle-bottom of the Layer panel and then select the Solid Color from the menu.

Write down the Text

After that, write down your preferred text in multiple layers if it contains more than one word, and then group them into one layer. In order to do that, type the first word and copy it by pressing Ctrl+J. Replace it with your preferred word. Follow the same process for the rest of the words. Once you are done with the writing and positioning, group all these layers into one by pressing Ctrl+G.

Apply Stroke to the Group Layer

Next, go to the left-bottom of the Layer panel and press the “Add a Layer Style” icon. Select Stroke from the menu to apply Stroke to your group layer. Hit the Color bar showing up on the window and pick your preferred color. You can adjust the size and opacity of the stroke as well.

Reapply Stroke on the 1st Copy of the Group Layer

Now, make a double copy of the group layer and reapply Stroke on the 1st copy of the group layer as per the previous process. Select a complementary color to the stroke and make other adjustments as necessary.

Apply Gradient Overlay on the 1st Copy of the Group Layer

Moving on, select the 1st copy of the group layer and apply Gradient Overlay by hitting the “Add a Layer Style” icon. Choose a fascinating gradient overlay, tweak gradient color from the gradient slider, and apply the gradient overlay to bring out a mind-blowing colorful text effect.

Add Catchy Shapes

Add more appeal to it by adding imposing shapes. For that, take a new layer, select the pen tool and change the drawing into Shape. After that, draw eye-catching shapes to complement the colorful text effect.

You can also select the Ellipse tool to draw a catchy and contextual ellipse with multiple colors or rainbow colors.
